  • Ike Is On His Way

Good news is the reports say voluntary evacuations started early yesterday. Houston & the island of Galveston are said to be virtual ghost towns. Now we wait and see where the hurricane makes landfall and how much damage it actually inflicts! I'm in North Central Texas so there is little danger of more than high winds and flooding due to heavy rains. Please send good vibes to my coastal neighbors who won't get off so easily!

  • I'm in Midland Txas! i hope all remains okay...

  • Sending vibes to them .. and your way, too.  : )

Good to use the Ike Turner video, since he liked to beat up on folks.  : P

  • Glad you are not in the way of the hurricane. I will send prayers to all of them and to you too. Judi

  • My friend just moved from OKC to Galveston County TX.  Fortunately her stuff is still in storage up here and she is with family in Shreveport, LA.  Fingers crossed her house doesn't get too damages, they are 2 miles from the coast.

  • Nature, all we can do is send possitive thoughts and hope for the best.

  • So glad to hear you are not on the coast. Sending good thoughts and crossing fingers for all in danger.

  • Sending good vibes to all who are in the path of Ike.
    *sparkle

  • I agree with the comment about the good use of Ike Turner in relation to the hurricane. Good perception there, Rainbow!

May those in the path of the storm find shelter from the storm...it is quite overwhelming to see the coverage of it on the Weather reports.

  • Please be safe....coming from Florida....I know that even though you aren't in the direct path....The wind you're going to get is pretty fierce.....I'm watching the news right now and it does not look good....  :(

    Prayers to all.......

  • Positive thoughts going out eveyone at the moment in the southern states, glad your out of the main path.

  • PS, Very cool film!

  • I was reading reports this morning of the damage and calls for help from those who didn't leave. Sounds like a mess.

In other news: Ike Turner once pulled up beside me on the freeway here in Southern California. When he saw I was playing my harmonica, he came me the thumbs up.

  • You got your hatches battened?

  • We're watching its path carefully and hoping Ike will not do as much damage as it certainly could. I have friends not far from the coast who are way too close for comfort.

  • Definitely thinking of you guys! I couldn't believe there were still people in Galveston (like 40%... could that even be true??) when they said it was certain death. It almost seems like a worse situation than New Orleans in that you wouldn't even have the chance to get on the top of your roof... the whole house might just be claimed by the sea. Very scary!!!
