The matter has been sent to the billing department,  my natural gas service will be monitored & an adjustment will be made to my account within 5 to 7 business days.

I understand it is a discrepancy between the old and new meter readings. However, for the sake of continuity and avoiding temporary heart failure at the mailbox, one would think they could take a final reading from the old meter before starting the next month's service on a new meter? Just a thought, perhaps that makes too much sense though?

Actually, it was repairs-a-go-go at RnBoW House today!  The bathtub faucet has been leaking out of control and so was the water bill! Not good for the environment or my wallet! So I took a long lunch and booked some time with a plumber.

Apparently this was also the day the natural gas company decided to replace my meter. I had to make an appointment for them to come out to turn the gas back on and light any pilot lights on appliances. Nice to know they don't want me or my house to blow up!

Faucet and meter are both happily in working order!

... Heat advisory remains in effect until 7 PM CDT Monday...

High temperatures over 100 degrees are forecast again on Monday
across the advisory area. Relative humidity values may fall into
the 15 to 25 percent range on Monday afternoon... but the hot
temperatures will still pose a potentially dangerous heat
situation.

Be sure to check on persons with health problems and the
elderly... as they are the most susceptible to heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Persons involved in outdoor activities are urged to take frequent
breaks and drink plenty of water. Wear loose fitting and light-
colored clothing.

Never leave Young children or pets in an enclosed vehicle... even
for a short time... as temperatures can quickly rise to life
threatening levels.

Objectification Or Appreciation?

There is much discussion and controversy around the subject of objectification of women. We are all sexual beings, however many people become irate at the presumption of women being seen as sexual objects. It makes me wonder about my own behavior and if there is a redeeming level of seeing a woman dressed in a way that pleases my senses, instead of me being perceived as inappropriate for making silent cat calls in my mind as they pass by. Perhaps that is the difference between appreciating what I see and stepping over into the realm of objectifying her which makes it perfectly ok to be lewd? I happen to find women who aren’t afraid to wear sexy things incredibly attractive. I like attention to detail. I like that it shows when they spent some time in front of the mirror to look a way that pleases them before they leave the house. I am a visual person & seek to find the extraordinary in the ordinary. Does that mean I turn all of these women I see into some kind of sexual robot and nothing more? Absolutely not! So I’m going to keep noticing all the ladies who like their skirts tight and just above the knee. I’m going to keep thinking a little bit of cleavage peeking out of an open shirt is sexy and I’m always going to notice that she must have taken 20 minutes to pick out the right shoes for her outfit. Objectification be damned, I’ll stay on the appreciation side of the street.
