  • July Sky

Clouds like this remind me of summers without responsibility.

The smell of chlorine in the air and the taste of Orange Crush on my lips.

Oh yes, those were the days!

The trick now is to find a way to get some of that back!

  • Amen! :sunny:

  • I have been trying to enjoy summer like I did as a child, but for different reasons ... I love winter and hate this awful humid heat.  That said, this has been the best summer in a few years, if for no other reason than a better attitude.

Now, go have an Orange Crush!

  • Wouldn't it be good to have that back, just a little?

    Care-free days and summer.

    Good memories.

  • Would you go back and do it all over? I like the picture. I enjoy watching the clouds on a lazy afternoon.

  • @TheWittyFool - No, I just want some of the carefree back. Life is too damned short to be this serious all the time!

  • I haven't had a truly carefree summer since age 11! Always had a job after that. This is the closest I've come to those days--so I guess I've nearly come full circle. Although I don't think I'm ever going to escape that responsibility thing. Ha! Great photo. I love that you choose black and white.

  • Whoa!

Looks like an epic sky battle brewing!

    Great shot!

  • Find a pool and an orange crush. That will help you capture the moment!

  • I like the vintage effect of this photograph.

Sometimes, for just a moment, I feel the wonder of the "lazy, crazy days of Summer", but it soon enough departs. Perhaps it is that sense of timelessness that we feel the loss of when longing for those long ago Summer days.

    Blessings~

  • You need to spend more time with that adorable niece!  Kids have a way of putting it all into perspective. :fun:

  • Beautiful image, I think you would love the sky here in Guatemala, is so blue and the clouds formations are amazing.   Thanx for sharing this amazing photo.

  • Ah...take the princess somewhere and go swimming, Auntie.  Nothing like reliving some of those carefree moments through the eyes of a child you love.

  • I love Iron and Wine!

  • trouble is you can't get it back, but the memories are always there,

  • Agreed. Chlorine and blue sky (with puffy clouds) is a pretty perfect recipe. Am also a fan of Breezy Trees and Hammock with Blue Sky.
    x.g.

  • Its a beautiful picture
