  • Rewards of Patience

The first of the Heirloom Daffodils have bloomed.

I'm very pleased to have played a part in bringing these Spring ladies back to life.

The Tropical Punch Tulips I planted a few weeks back have also begun to

arrive. These may not bloom this season since I got them in the ground so late,

but they will have a wonderful head start with all the energy

that will be stored from foliage exposure this season.

Everyone was quite enamored of this one last year

so I thought I'd share her progress again this Spring.

  • Ice Day

At least a quarter of an inch of freezing rain & sleet fell here at RnBoW House overnight

The temp is 21 degrees this morning & the roads are like an ice rink.

This may not sound like alot to some of you that have harsh winters,

but in Texas, this is a BIG DEAL!

Needless to say I am still at home with the first cup of coffee in hand!

I planted two Red Lion Amarillys bulbs three weeks ago

that are springing to life with the heat & light the

    office at RnBoW House provides.

It's winter & I am missing the vibrant colors!

These will be a nice tide over to spring!

  • A Brand New Day

There is a sense of hope again, a belief that things can and will be different. The changing of the Guard on our political front holds promise. Even the cynical believe in the system again. It doesn’t fix everything & on many subjects, this election barely scratches the surface of what needs to be done. It is the end of a long and mighty battle and it is a joyous and humble beginning. Last night, the sun set on the past and today it rose upon a world of possibility. Whether it be good or bad, the face of this country and the world will never look the same. I am proud and in awe of this opportunity to witness a real change & I look forward to all the things to come.

  • Down The Hatch!

I've managed to go years without a full blown cold but I guess I left my lucky horseshoe at home last week. I stayed home yesterday in a feverish funk, but  it's nothing some good ol' antibiotics won't kill. I honestly can't remember the last time I had to take them.

    I think that's a pretty good thing!
